Amos Mix started his martial arts training in 1985 at Midwest Academy of Martial arts under instructor Todd Peterson.. In 1990 Amos was awarded his Black Belt and at that time the schools name had changed to American States Karate. His interest in sport karate came after watching his instructor compete and domainate his competition.. After years of training, Amos has become a top competitor on the regional N.C.K.A. (North Central Karate Association) Circuit and is making a name on the national NASKA (North American Sport Karate Association) Circuit. He was a founding member of Team Rogue, a local sport karate team. And is now a member and coach of Team DG, a sponsored sport karate team, by Clear Lake author Dorothy Garlock. Traveling to each coast to compete against others is what drives Amos to do the best he can. Amos currently holds the rank of 5th degree in American Sport Karate, a style of martial arts geared towards competition karate. Still passing his skill on to others, Amos instructs at American States Karate in Northwood. |
